Carousel v. 60

1. Brené Brown on empathy, compassion and boundaries
Being loving and generous... and very straight forward with what's okay and what's not okay.
"Compassion is a deeply held belief that we're inextricably connected to each other by something rooted in love and goodness. Empathy is the skill-set to bring compassion alive -- it's how to communicate deep love for people, so people know they're not alone. It is not feeling for somebody, it's feeling with them."

2. Nothing is Promised: Treasuring the love you had.
"And if your relationship ends? Don’t see it as a failure. Stop viewing relationships as something you “win” or “lose”. Every interaction with another person is an opportunity to learn and grow, and with intimate relationships, that opportunity is tenfold. You don’t have to be with someone until their final breath for that relationship to have been valuable or transformative. Give love, share love, celebrate it, and be thankful for what you’ve had."

3. A comic that accurately sums up depression and anxiety -- and the uphill battle of living with them

4. A Message to Gun Fanatics After the Dallas Shootings
More guns does not equal greater safety. Just the opposite.

5. Why You Will Marry the Wrong Person

6. Get the Epidural
"How often do people really want women to be or do anything 'natural'? It seems to me the answer is almost never. In fact, almost everything natural about women is considered pretty horrific. Hairy legs and armpits? Please shave, you furry beast. Do you have hips and cellulite? Please go hide in the very back of your shoe closet and turn the light off and stay there until someone tells you to come out. (No one will tell you to come out.) It’s interesting that no one cares very much about women doing anything 'naturally' until it involves their being in excruciating pain. No one ever asks a man if he’s having a 'natural root canal.' No one ever asks if a man is having a 'natural vasectomy.' This is why I generally believe, and of course I know there are exceptions, but I’m just saying, usually, you should get the epidural."

7. PMDD is SHITTY.

8. Life after loss.
"If your life is falling apart around you in any capacity, please trust the process. Through the darkest nights of your soul, a light shines forth."

9. Design Icons (!!!!)

10. Hold on to a broken heart so you can get through it. <3
"In my experience, big emotions like heartbreak aren’t meant to be avoided; they’re meant to be felt. It’s a bit like standing at the edge of the ocean and having a giant wave come crashing down on you. You can kick and fight and pull against it, but it will only drag you further out to sea."
